Being only the 13th of its kind in the world, the Louis Vuitton Maison is spread out over three beautiful levels and is Australia's largest stand-alone luxury store. Full of exquisite and breathtaking pieces, this store is home to Euro 4.5 Million ($6 million dollars) worth of jewelry, each with its own story and inspiration behind its design. Trust that my favourite piece (the jeweled statement necklace above) is worth a cool Euro 1.131.600 ($1.5 million dollars) alone. Cate Blanchett was described as "part of the Louis Vuitton family" and was there to show her support by cutting the ribbon to officially open the LV Maison store, which just so happens to coincide with the 25th anniversary of Louis Vuitton in Australia. I didn't know it was humanely possible to illuminate the way Cate does in real life, but apparently it is. Besides its incredible decor and mouth watering collections, the most fascinating part about this store is the VIP room located on the very top floor. Here you will find Haute Maroquinerie, the luxurious service where customers can custom build their very own Louis Vuitton bag. Only the second store in the entire world to receive this exclusive 'Made to Order' service, customers have the option to choose what leather, shape, size, colour, lining and hardware they desire to suit their own personality and taste. Designed to be a 'dream of a process', each bag takes between six to twelve months to make in Paris and comes with your initials iron stamped on a leather patch inside. Considering there are eight different types of fine and exceptional leathers, including shiny or matte crocodile or alligator skin, available in a range of twenty-six colours and over eighty thousand shades of silver and gold hardware to choose from, I think someone as indecisive as myself would have to spend a week in there just to choose what colour I would want the lining to be! That being said it would be a process I'd be more than happy to undertake for such an iconic and timeless piece such a Louis Vuitton bag.

Louis Vuitton Island Maison, Singapore

LOUIS VUITTON ISLAND MAISON, MARINA BAY SANDS, SINGAPORE

Sitting on the edge of this marina, I admire the great and surprising city of Singapore. Tall futuristic buildings, lots of lights and surprise at every moment, here is the great Singapore, where time seems to stand still. A light breeze touches my face and the humidity reminds me of the work of these men and women who worked hard to give all the glory to the name that shines before me, affixed to a building resembling a boat. The name Louis Vuitton is shining. Just over 150 years, the ingenuity of a man and the talent of his successors, that's what it took to make the name Louis Vuitton the symbol of a wealthy class and the reflection of a lifestyle desired by a new generation. Sitting on that bench, I remember these people in the Parisian store on the Champs-Elysees queuing to enter the shop.

I remember also that it all started with a trunk, the one that takes the most valuable assets of these very wealthy individuals. Today, times have changed, traveling became much easier but the dream of a man continues his journey. The trunk is this precious object that families move sparingly. The leather bags have become much more convenient to transport the most valuable. The monogram is then a sign of excellence, a touch of glamor and a reflection of French know-how that could disappear without the amazing power and the desire to renew of Louis Vuitton. The lamp lights . A car picks me up, it is time to enter the arena for a spectacle, that of the opening of the new Louis Vuitton.

I tighten my tie, properly replace my suit and reviews the major cities where Louis Vuitton has set up its luxury. Paris of course, New York surely, London inevitably, and Singapore finally ... Here I am. The building made of glass is impressive. It looks like a boat moored at the Marina. The brand has over 400 stores in over 60 countries, but tonight I find myself in the heart of a prestige, that of Louis Vuitton. The difference? On a few hundred square meters, the precious bags or trunks and refined collections of ready-to-wear and jewelry creations are arranged in open space.

And a great setting more intimate for monogram lovers to find a luxury signed of Louis Vuitton. As for art, travel, and reading lovers, they will discover with pleasure a gallery dedicated to the art, a library and especially a setting where the journey will become a reality. Lights are moving towards this building. They signal the opening of the 11th Louis Vuitton House. The doors open. The speech begins. The attention is at its most. Welcome to Singapore Louis Vuitton!

Louis Vuitton Étoile Maison - Rome

Hot on the heels of openings in Singapore and Sydney, Louis Vuitton opens another stellar maison – its division of superflagships – in Rome. Illustriously called Louis Vuitton Étoile Maison, the new store measures a rather grand 1,200 sqm. and is housed in a three-storey landmark building that previously accommodated the historical Spazio Étoile, the city’s very first movie theatre.

Peter Marino, the new york-based architect responsible for Louis Vuitton store interiors across the planet, redesigned the buiding’s interior, retaining the visual drama by its impressive staircase winding around a wide open atrium that allows in floods of daylight.

Next to the interior, Marino also designed a series of furniture pieces for the store. Similar to other maisons, the Louis Vuitton Étoile Maison features special retail sections and merchandise, such as a bag bar, trunk room and its so-called Haute Maroquinerie line of leather goods. Obviously, the entire range of Louis Vuitton collections for men + women’s presented here. But what makes the roman maison unique is its 19-seat cinema which screens short movies by renowned directors.

Handmade cinema is a documentary produced by Luchino Visconti di Modrone and directed by Guido Torlonia, and marks the beginning of a project that emphasizes the history of the building and the new maison’s passion for the craftsmen of cinema. Additionally, there’s a partnership with the city’s prestigious Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia that aims to encourage the development of new film talent. The Louis Vuitton Étoile Maison opened with a massive party that pulled a large crowd of Vuitton dignitaries and glitterati from italy and abroad.
