Ulysse Nardin Presents | The Redesigned Freak Cruiser Timpiece

Ulysse Nardin is a timepiece brand in a class by itself. Their iconic designs and watch models are exquisite. The Cruiser is a complete redesign. Its case is available in either an 18kt rose or white gold option with double sapphire crystals. This timepiece has no dials or hands and it is designed so that the movement revolves on its own. The lower bridge that indicates the hours is linked to its center while the upper bridge holds the gear train, balance spring, and the exclusive Dual Ulysse silicon escapement that shows the minutes. For centuries, perpetual calendar timepieces have existed. Yet it was in 1996 that Ulysse Nardin brought to market the world’s most functional perpetual calendar. Ulysse Nardin Royal Ruby

It’s truly an explosion of ruby red, when you look at the Ulysse Nardin Royal Ruby Tourbillon. The force of the Ruby has been used by the watchmaker to create a dramatic new statement with the Royal Ruby timepiece, as part of its Tourbillon collection. Constructed along the principles of famous Swiss watchmaker James Pellaton, its bridges and main plates are crafted in ruby and sapphire, making the flying tourbillon appears to defy gravity. Its movement parts are skeletonized and in perfect symmetry, while the manual winding system is unseen. These fine nuances enhance the beauty of the flying tourbillon.

 The timepiece which is a handcrafted masterpiece is lightweight in appearance. The Royal Ruby is set with 12 rubies distinguishing the hours, accompanied by 48 diamonds. Each gemstone is cut to perfection to fit the 41 mm platinum case made for this collection. To further enhance its appearance, it is attached to an alligator leather strap with a platinum folding buckle.

Its sibling timepiece, the Ulysse Nardin Royal Blue Tourbillon is a mechanical masterpiece embellished with sapphire. Its bridges and main plates are crafted in blue sapphire, allowing the flying Tourbillon to appear as if it is floating in an empty space.

Ulysse Nardin Stranger – The First Music Box Wristwatch

 Launched this month in Zurich, the Ulysse Nardin Stranger is a world’s first. More exactly, it is the first music box wristwatch and it was developed in collaboration with musician Dieter Meier. Limited to only 99 examples, the exquisite timepiece plays Frank Sinatra’s iconic Strangers in the Night song, hence its name.

Inside the 18k pink gold case lays an in-house manufactured automatic movement caliber UN-690. It features 64 jewels and a mechanism that plays the famous song every hour. Of course, this feature can be turned off by simply pushing the button at the 10 o’clock position. Setting the time is accomplished by pushing (not pulling) the crown and then rotating it upwards or downwards, as necessary.

Extremely impressive is the musical instrument with rotating disk that can be admired on the dial through the AR-coated sapphire crystal. Creating the timepiece took 5 years of planning and development, and now the product is finally here for diehard exclusivity lovers. It has a power reserve of 48 hours, a matching pink gold buckle, and a leather strap.
